Happy Halloweeeeen.

Runway Halloween fashion.

Me as a more down to earth riding hood at my desk. With a really strange look on my face for some reason, I look like I tasted something gross.

Have a wonderful weekend, I'll have better pictures at some point. :)

Ps. Look! P90X is now mainstream enough to be a Halloween costume. Although this guy doesn't look like he's even thought about starting the program yet...

In search of a skirt.

I'm feeling the need to browse (more like wade really) through the massive amount of clothing at Forever 21 and try on these skirts! I think these are really cute, and skirts are just...so much better than wearing pants. Bottom line. No pants is a good thing. I feel like these skirts have the capacity to be either extremely great or horrid looking. That's always how it is at places like F21, H&M...there's no in-between. Fabulous or the most unflattering cut possible.

All of these are under $20. Perrrfect.
[This feels like a cute denim skirt injected with some flare. I'm a fan.]

[might look like drapes...but could be so fun too!]

Arizona.

Courtney and I are off to Arizona tomorrow night for a long weekend visiting a friend...I'm looking forward to checking out a new place and seeing my friends who have decided to move far, far away.

Not much going on this week, but I am starting a "90-day challenge" at work on Monday and have committed to doing 5 days a week of Insanity in addition to setting some personal goals including lowering my body fat percentage, which was recently tested in a Hydrostat tank. The title speaks volumes. I did one of the harder workouts today, and I am so wiped out. It definitely is going to push me however, but at the moment five days a week is sounding pretty daunting. It's intense cardio / plyo, which is defintely the right kind of workout for me. Also, pretty awesome that I'm encouraged to work out at work.

Also, I'm really digging (tacky?) What I Wore these days, she posts great pics of really practical but creative style. In particular, I love this look (those Oxfords!).

Funny video, poor guy. Makes me glad my friends aren't all married. Yet. ;)

Musings.

Cute. If I said this to someone they would realize that I REALLY meant it given my deep love affair with all things coffee.

This weekend was definitely full and fun.

Bon Iver knocked our socks off at the Wiltern Friday night. Amazing musician, truly.

I now own this in preparation for "fall" in southern CA. Feels like a blanket. It's not as white as it looks in the picture. [Forever 21]

Picked up this necklace at the Abbot Kinney fest in Venice yesterday. I'm a big fan already. Bad picture, can't really see it that well but it's from the iPhone. I tried.

After seeing Coco Before Chanel yesterday, not only am I obsessed with her style but she had this amazing nautical shirt on...I am now craving something similar. I think this dress would hang so nicely on a real person. Also it was a simply fantastic, well-done movie.

Used this amazing marinade recipe for a steak this weekend. I don't think I'm as nervous about cooking red meat anymore, seeing as this was absolutely delicious!!

In love with...a dress.

*sigh*

I always love Kate Walsh and her red-haired sexiness...but she has topped herself this time.
I am obsessed with this dress. I don't do the daydreamy imagining-and-planning-my-wedding-10-years-in-advance thing...but I would without a doubt wear an off-white/ivory version of this dress at my wedding. I love Grecian inspired dresses, and this fabric just hangs beautifully. I am smitten with this dress. And I can't find a picture of the back of it yet, but when I do...

Update: more dress pics (but no full picture of the back yet, alas.)

I also came across this beautiful dress on none other than Whitney Port. Don't love the hair at all, new hair stylist needed, but this dress simply radiates elegance.
Now, if only I had a reason to dress to the nines. A girl can dream.

smile.

Here are a few things that are making me smile this fine Wednesday.

smile.
Fall fashion--don't get me wrong, I LOVE summer, but looking at magazines/what's in this fall has been particularly fun...and I got the best black booties as an early birthday gift so now I'm just dreaming of fall things to wear them with...oh gee. Here is something perfect at a perfect price.
Ballerina! Thanks Forever 21. For selling (mostly) cute things at affordable prices...now if we could just work on the holes in your clothes, that would be great. Thank you.

smile.
[Doesn't this just melt your heart? I've never had a white cat, it looks like a bunny though! Awww!]

smile.
I saw these earrings on luckymag.com - they're from stars + infinite darkness, which I just discovered has a whole bunch of cool jewelry. Nice.

smile.
Brett's Survivor premiere is tomorrow! Soooo excited, I think we've all been waiting for this for quite awhile.

smile.
You can kind of see my new haircut in the top photo, sort of. This was one of our bargain frame purchases at the flea on Sunday. Seriously, such a steal. Naomi and I were quite the bargaining duo. I even helped her negotiate a handbag lower by telling the guy that Naomi is "really really nice." (Which she is of course, but he needed to know that.)

Let's accessorize.

I'm loving long gold necklaces these days...here are a few favs from Etsy for you / I to dream about this fine Monday. I wish I could make jewelry like this! Perhaps I'll take a community ed class someday...

shoes and rings and pretty things.

I love these booties and think they would be simply great for this fall (tights, dresses, skirst, so versatile)...and they have a 1.5" heel...which means they're not flats. But they would still FEEL like flats. Ideal.

I'm also really liking these pretty rings and jewelry.

And isn't this haircut fierce? I'm thinking about growing my red locks back out, but I just love those bangs. You never know... :)

oh em gee.

I think I found something[s] I want for my birthday. Since I cannot order the entire J.Crew fall collection, let me just say that it is simply fantastic. I've never been that huge a fan of J.Crew, but they are seriously stepping up their game. That or I'm "coming of age" as they say and now it's suddenly appealing to me. Let's hope it's the former rather than the latter.

These Rayban sunglasses for J.Crew are everything I've been looking for and oh so much more. I'm over cheap sunglasses that keep falling apart. I think I've bought $100 worth of crappy sunglasses, might as well go for the REAL DEAL that will last a lifetime. [Birthday approaching!]

These cropped cords in "soft ochre" are fall perfection. And the blazer, glasses, loose striped shirt...everything about this outfit...

[via the wonderful i am a greedy girl.]

A couple more things to share:

1. I am newly obsessed with / pathetically crushing on this man:
2. More pictures HERE.
3. My next hobby (joke...but how cool is that?):

TMOOH Launch!

Brett's new site is up...and it looks amazing!

Seriously, it doesn't get any more inspiring than seeing your friends' dreams become reality. Really makes me think about what it is that I want to make happen in my own life and just what it is that I am willing to take a risk for.

Check it out HERE and tell all your friends.

Some of my faves...
I must get my hands on a giraffe tshirt at some point!

Things I like.

Things I like for "fall" [because let's be honest, it's still going to be hot]. It's more a state of mind...
A loosely-fitting, comfy blouse that doesn't pop a button every time I must reach for something...

Comfy blazer! Great for the office, great for my life.

Still obsessing over cropped pants [minus those shoes, not a fan.]

And Naomi, you would rock these:
Thanks Gap!

forget-me-knot[s]

I love these rings by designer Kiel Mead. They are simple yet beautiful and fun. Just can't get them out of my distracted Monday mind (seriously though, my productivity today = NIL).

Time Travel

Naomi, Jackie and I in the...20's? ...not entirely sure on the decade. I hope you have as much fun this weekend as these three lovely ladies in their fantastic bathing costumes.

The boys are back in town! (and that song now stuck in my head...) Friends being back makes this weekend so incredibly appealing. I'm looking forward to relaxing, catching up and reuniting, sunning myself and barbeque-ing. Maybe a margarita or two... :)

Oh and my new collage / latest "art" endeavor is finished! A picture or two soon.

My next (clothing) purchase.

I am in love with cropped jeans I've decided. Aren't these lovely? So perfect for the summer.

urban outfitters.com

And while I'm at it...you know what would go so perfectly with this wonderful denim?
...a nice relaxed menswear styled shirt like this one:
Love it!
